The Start in Mechelen
Three entrepreneurs founded Tailormate in Mechelen, initially focusing on the event industry. It soon became clear that custom work was the company's strength, and Tailormate grew into a full-service exhibition stand builder. Two of the three founders are still active directors today.
2011
New Location and Production Workshop
Tailormate moved to Mechelen North Industrial Zone, to a larger site where it invested in its own production workshop. The first machines were installed, laying the foundation for a modern and efficient production process.
2015
Establishment of the Interior Construction Department
The first steps into interior construction were taken. Small-scale projects such as boutiques and hospitality venues marked the beginning. Custom work and high-quality finishing remained the core of the offering.
2020
Creativity in CrIsis Times
The COVID-19 crisis hit the exhibition stand industry hard as international trade fairs were cancelled on a massive scale. But Tailormate refused to stand still. Thanks to a strong focus on flexibility, creativity and internal restructuring, the team shifted even further towards interior construction.
2021
Recognition
Tailormate won the VOKA award for Best Company in the Mechelen district and was also named the Most Innovative Company in the province of Antwerp.
The interior construction department flourishes, with complete renovations of office buildings exceeding 5.000 m2. Tailormate becomes a full-service turnkey partner, from screed to painting.

2022 - 2025
PROFESSIONALIZATION AND RECOGNITION ONCE AGAIN
The machinery was expanded, with continued investment in project management, planning and client service.
The company also expanded internationally, focusing on European trade fairs, with a strong presence in the Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. In addition, the company is active in overseas markets such as the United States, which accounts for approximately 10% of its revenue.
In 2025, Tailormate won the UNIZO award for Best Company in the province of Antwerp.
